Bushwick17 is a project by Costanza Francavilla and Alex Infascelli.
It’s a 17 minutes improvisation session, recorded in Bushwick on a Summer afternoon - with no additional edits, mixing or efx.
The idea is based on both artists's obsession with the number ‘17’: the concept was to freely capture 17 minutes of their day together, without any thought before the act or any extra sound manipulation after the act.
Costanza placed 2 mics on the floor in the middle of the room - facing the wall - and played synthesizers while merging herself with dreamlike vocals into ambient floating textures. Alex turned on a fan that was abandoned in the studio, placed the electric guitar in front of it, creating ethereal drones, and moving from guitars atmospheres to abruptly exploding yet sultry drums patterns.
The result is an hypnotic sonic journey into an indefinite condition of space and time.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Costanza Francavilla is an Italian musician, music producer and photographer who aims to combine visionary aesthetics with social awareness and DIY philosophy.
Her sultry vocals and electronic dreamlike compositions fascinated trip-hop guru / former Massive Attack member Tricky, with whom she collaborated for several years. He would then referred to her as 'the female version of me'.
In the mid 2000’s she moved to Brooklyn where she founded Zerokilled Music (label, music production & recording studio). Her debut album Sonic Diary came out in 2008: since then she's been working in her studio creating music for visual media and collaborating with several artists, from both the avant-garde and the underground electronic scene. Nowadays Costanza dedicates most of her time to develop ZerOKilled Music, which repre- sents an unique roster of international electronic and avant-garde artists in an effort to place their innovative touching sounds in the Film industry.
Alex Infascelli is a film director and musician from Rome. In the 90's he moved to Los Angeles to pursue his musical career. After playing in several local bands he started his career in the film industry working at Propaganda Films. He collaborated with several direc- tors such as Dominic Sena, Mark Romanek, Mark Pellington and Bernardo Bertolucci.
He has directed several successful music videos (including a clip for Cocteaux Twins) and four award winning feature films. He writes for Rolling Stone and he is currently working on his first documentary movie - a story about Stanley Kubrick's longtime driver and collabora- tor. His work is regularly featured on Nowness magazine.
